WHAT WE DO

The Recorder of Deeds is responsible for making records of land documents, maintaining and preserving the records, and the issuance and preserving of marriage licenses. In addition, military discharge papers, tax liens, and other various documents may be recorded upon request in compliance with Missouri State Statutes.  Examples of recorded information related to real estate include deeds, deeds of trust, releases, easements, surveys, plats, restrictions, cemetery deeds, and road right of ways.  Additional documents that can be recorded include articles of incorporation, patents, affidavits, and wills. Records are safely maintained and stored on-site, on microfilm, and electronically. Records can be searched online for real estate, marriage, and tax liens databases. Images of recorded documents are also available in some instances.
